Program OverviewTLC Serves the Lancaster community in ending homelessness 5 ways:
Transitional Living Center (TLC), a 52 room short-term housing facility is staffed 24 hours/365 days a year by 9 program assistants. The focus of the TLC program is to end the cycle of homelessness and each household must be committed to the goal of finding permanent housing upon enrollment into the TLC program. TLC residents work one-on-one with their TLC caseworkers to develop a step-by-step plan to obtain permanent, sustainable housing. This plan includes a working budget and referrals to other services and resources including education, employment, and/or recovery, if needed, that will help them obtain sustainable, permanent housing. Additionally, TLC's Life Long Learning classes offer participants the opportunity for personal and professional development. Last year, 231 classes were held with 591 participants. Classes included Stress and Anger Management, Parenting, Recovery Promotions, Women and Men's Christian Support, Landlord/Tenant Rights & Responsibilities, Budgeting and Legal Issues.
