Who Can Benefit from this Program?

All of the applicants accepted into this transitional housing program are single mothers. This program has shown that the women needing transitional housing have lost temporary custody of their children due to their addiction & homelessness, and thus come to Jubilee House for transitional housing with on-site weekend visitations with their children. While the children initially do not reside in the facility, they do have overnight stays. Because of the stability Jubilee has offered to these "single" women, most regain custody of their children during their stay at Jubilee.

Who Qualifies for this Service?

Applicants must be women over the age of 18 with no more than three children residing with them. Male children must be 10 or younger at the time of application. Female children must be 12 or younger at the time of application.
All applicants must be in recovery.
Applicants must have successfully completed a substance abuse treatment program prior to admission to Jubilee House.

Applicants must be homeless according to HUD guidelines and be:

• Currently living in a shelter
• Living in transitional housing and was living in the streets or emergency shelter prior to moving into transitional housing
• Currently living on the streets with no permanent address
• Will be homeless within the week
• Living in an institution or medical facility for more than 30 days and will be homeless upon release
• Living with friends/family or in a hotel is not, at this time, considered homeless.

  
  Applicants not homeless under this definition cannot be considered for Jubilee House.

Applicants must be able to live independently & meet all program requirements.
NOTE: Persons with disabilities or impediments that prohibit this eligibility requirement are referred to other facilities or service providers able to meet their needs.

Applicants are referred from staff at their treatment program & other approved social service agency.

• Individuals/Families seeking service:

  Contact a drug and alcohol counselor at your treatment facility.
  Complete the application with a case manager at your treatment facility.
